DENMARK AT WAR is a documentary series about Denmark’s war effort over the course of three decade – about the loss of innocence, the courage, and the consequences it has had for us and for those who the Danish troops fought.
When a nation goes to war, we move closer together to protect and defend those who, risk their lives at the frontline. But once the dust has settled, we must look for the nuances by giving a voice to those who were there; the Danish soldiers, the people who fought against them, as well as the civilians.
The ambition is to tell complete narrative of the Danish war engagement from the peacekeeping operations in the former Yugoslavia to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan after 9/11.
